Informa Updates Crop Estimates

Sees corn and soybean yields above USDA’s October peg, cotton yield below.

Sources familiar with Informa Economics say the firm has updated its crop estimates ahead of next week’s USDA November Crop Production Report. Following are details:

  • Corn: Informa at 12.549 billion bu., with a yield of 149.5 bu. per acre. Compares to USDA’s October peg of 12.433 billion bu. and yield of 148.1 bu. per acre.

  • Soybeans: Informa at 3.082 billion bu., with a yield of 41.8 bu. per acre. Compares to USDA’s October peg 3.060 billion bu. and a yield of 41.5 bu. per acre.

  • All cotton: Informa at 16.463 million lbs., with a yield of 802 lbs. per acre. Compares to USDA’s October peg of 16.608 milion lbs. and a yield of 809 lbs. per acre.
