GreenReport Reflects Fairly ‘Average’ Conditions

Comparing early-August greenness to the average reflects a fairly ‘average’ situation for much of the Corn Belt.

The Kansas Applied Remote Sensing (KARS) GreenReport map that compares greenness from early August to the average for this period reflects a fairly “average” situation for the bulk of the Corn Belt, especially in Iowa and Illinois.

But when comparing greenness in early August to year-ago, there are large areas, especially in the western Corn Belt, where conditions are decreased.
