1/2 C. butter or margarine
1/2 C. shortening
1 C. sugar
1 C. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 C. quick-cooking oats
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
1 C. chopped nuts
Cream shortening, adding sugars gradually. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Add oats, chips, and nuts. Drop about 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake at 350-375 for 9-12 min. Cool on rack. Yield 7-8 doz.
