Fendt Ideal Combine Gives Farmers New Control, New Views on Combine Operation

With the four-fold goal of improving efficiency, grain quality, uptime and safety, AGCO has announced three optional features on its Fendt Ideal Combine.

“Our optional joystick drive is the only one in the industry.” Kevin Forth says. “This feature reduces operator fatigue showing it requires operators to use 65% less muscle activity to operator the combine. Operators who have used Ideal Drive say they will never go back to a steering wheel.”

With the four-fold goal of improving efficiency, grain quality, uptime and safety, AGCO has announced three optional features on its Fendt Ideal Combine.

The first example is the optional IDEALdrive, which is an operational joystick mounted on the left side of the seat. As explained by Kevin Forth, marketing manager for AGCO Corporation and Fendt IDEALdrive and Gleaner products, this is an exclusive offering to the industry.

“Our optional joystick drive is the only one in the industry.” Forth says. “This feature reduces operator fatigue showing it requires operators to use 65% less muscle activity to operator the combine. Operators who have used Ideal Drive say they will never go back to a steering wheel.”

Another benefit of the side mounted joystick control includes improved visibility.

Fendt IDEALdrive received an AE50 Award from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.

A second example of AGCO providing advanced harvesting solutions is the DynaFlex platform with AutoDock System. This system allows the operator to attach or detach the header in less than five seconds from the cab.
As Forth describes, with one touch the drive lines, hydraulics and electrical are all connected. And the time savings over a harvest season adds up to 9 hours.

AutoDock was awarded the Davidson Prize, which recognizes the three top-scoring AE50 winners.

The third harvesting technology is the IDEALharvest system, which connects an iPad in the cab for real-time data display. With sensors from across the machine’s harvesting system, the display provides a view into incoming crop load, grain quality, rotor speed, chaffer clearance, sieve clearance and more.

The goal of the technology is to give a real-time visualization of data through the combine that enables the operator to minimize loss and maximize grain quality.

Forth also highlights AGCO’s warranty on all IDEAL combines which includes a 3-year full machine warranty, plus all machine maintenance, and a guaranteed loaner if your machine is down for 48 hours.
