Field work and chores

From four-wheel-drive to high-horsepower rowcrop to utility models, today’s tractors answer the call of duty on the farm.

Case IH unveiled the Steiger Rowtrac, available on the 350, 400 and 450 models, to provide a narrow track for 20", 22", 30" and 40" row-crop spacings.

AGCO Power Tier 4 Interim compliant engines fuel two new track tractors from Challenger, the 260 PTO hp MT755D and the 285 PTO hp MT765D.

The six models in the T8 Series from New Holland can be outfitted with the Auto Command continuously variable transmission, which has four modes.

Challenger added four models, ranging from 140 to 180 PTO hp, to the MT500D Series, which is powered by a Tier 4 Interim AGCO Power engine.

Spanning seven models, the John Deere 5E Series is available in two-wheel-drive or mechanical front-wheel-drive, with several transmission options and cab or rollover protective structure.

The 6 Series includes six models in the mid-spec 6M range, four models in the economical 6D Series and five models in the 6R configuration.

Kubota brought to market its most powerful tractor to date: the M135GX, at 118 PTO hp, which is one of four models in the Grand X Series.

Four new models ranging from 110 to 130 PTO hp join the four existing models in the Massey Ferguson 7600 Series with Tier 4 Interim compliant AGCO Power engines.

The T6 Series from New Holland has been updated with Tier 4 Interim compliant engines using the ECOBlue selective catalytic reduction system.

With four models ranging from 90 to 115 PTO hp, the lean and mean TS6 tractors are easy to operate and maintain and available in several configurations.

The long haul

Manufacturers introduced harvesting equipment for the long haul with greater capacities.

The Case IH Axial-Flow combines feature a new cab with a multifunction propulsion handle and redesigned storage. Options include four auger lengths and a pivoting grain spout controlled from the cab.

With five cutting widths from 25' to 45', the New Holland 840CD rigid draper head is made for CR Series Twin Rotor and CX8000 Series combines.

Versatile’s Russian parent company, Rostselmash, introduced the Versatile RT490 combine to North America.

More acres faster

Machinery makers are designing planting and seeding equipment to accurately and quickly place seed in the ground.

Case IH expanded its planter lineup with its Twin-Row planters available in 20' rigid-mounted, 30' and 40' stackfold and 30' and 40' front-fold models.

Great Plains expanded the Yield-Pro line with the YP-825R Lift and Rotate planter. Known for its grain drills, Great Plains introduced its largest drill yet—the 3S-5000, which spans 50'.

John Deere unveiled the 1910 Commodity Cart with 550-bu. capacity, hydraulic meter drives, variable-rate control and hydraulic calibration as standard equipment.

The Sunflower 9700 Series air drill is designed for no-till to conventional-till conditions and offers 40', 50' and 60' working widths.

Kinze launched a mounted planter line with two series: 3110 Rigid and 3140 Stack Fold.

Versatile expanded its seeding line with two models of ML Series air drills, in three-section and five-section frames with 40' to 70' working widths.

Work the ground

Tillage manufacturers are unveiling options for soil density management and seedbed prep.

After debuting the Turbo-Max in 2011, Great Plains introduced a three-section 35' model and five-section 40' model.

John Deere unveiled three new 2600 Series disks with working widths up to 49'3". The company also introduced the 2623VT, designed to size residue, mix residue and soil, and level.

With working widths from 45' to 63', the Sunflower 5056 Series field cultivators are built with truss-style main frames and 26" clearance. The Sunflower 4700 Series in-line rippers are available in multiple configurations including a 12-shank model with a 30' working width. Two models are added to the Sunflower 6600 vertical tillage lineup—35' and 40'.

Crop control

Crop protection and fertilizer application machines are ready to head to the field to give the crop a boost.

AGCO outfitted three RoGator models with AGCO AgCommand telematics and the Norac UC5 Spray Height Control System. With multiple configurations, the TerraGator lineup includes three three-wheel machines and one four-wheel chassis machine.

The Case IH Titan 30 Series floaters are available with three or four wheels and 330 hp or 400 hp and powered by Tier 4 Interim compliant Fiat Powertrain engines. For larger capacity fertilizer application, Case IH also expanded its Nutri-Placer line with the 920 model, featuring a 1,650-gal. or 2,050-gal. product tank.

With its Power to the Ground Technology, Equipment Technologies introduced Apache sprayers. The Plus II Package boosts the machine’s horsepower to 275 and is available on the AS1020 and AS1220 models.

New Holland’s Guardian selfpropelled sprayers can be outfitted with two all-new cab choices: Deluxe or Luxury. Both are larger in size and feature an air-ride cab suspension.

Miller Nitro 5000 and Condor GC Series sprayers have new cab choices with CAN bus wiring, 12-volt power points and joystick controls.

Time to make hay

From round balers to self-propelled forage harvesters, today’s hay and forage equipment is built tough.

For maximum hay baling productivity, Case IH introduced the LB4 Series large square balers that can provide up to 20% greater capacity.

The Claas Jaguar line of self-propelled forage harvesters has been expanded as five of the six models can be equipped with the Dynamic Power System option and two harvesting heads: the 17' DD 520 Contour and the 20' DD 610 Contour. Claas also expanded its Disco front-mounted mower line, Liner single-rotor rakes and Volto tedders.

Two new models of self-propelled windrowers from John Deere, the W110 and W150, have 110 hp and 148 hp, respectively. These machines can be matched with six new draper heads and three new auger heads. The seven models in the John Deere 7080 Series of self-propelled forage harvesters feature Tier 4 Interim compliant engines, factory-installed duals, a new spout turning system and kernel processing technology. John Deere built the 12 baler models in the 9 Series with Diamond chains, faster gate cycles and large cams and bearings in the pickup on the premium models.

The New Holland FR Forage Cruiser self-propelled forage harvesters range from 424 hp to 824 hp and feature the VariFlow and HydroLoc system. The new BigBaler models (330 and 340) are designed for higher capacity hay making and 5% denser bales than before. For faster forage, the Mega-Cutter trip-mounted mower system from New Holland offers a wide swath—almost 30'.

Vermeer expanded its hay and forage lineup with the new 504 PRO Baler, Rancher 6640 and Rancher 6650 Balers, VR2040 High-Capacity Wheel Rake and BPX9000 Bale Processor.
