New from Case IH: 2150S Early Riser Split-Row Planter and Precision Disk 550 Series Air Drill

Available to order for spring 2023, both the 2150S Early Riser front-fold trailing planter and the Precision Disk 550 air drill offer added capacity to get more done in a day.

Staying productive in the field is key to getting ahead of a potentially unpredictable planting season, says David Brennan, Case IH planter marketing manager. With that in mind, Case IH is expanding its 2000 series Early Riser lineup with the addition of a front-fold trailing planter that offers split-row configuration with greater fertilizer and seed capacity.

Tank options on the 2150S Early Riser planter include the planter-frame-mounted 525-gal. capacity or a pull-hitch towed fertilizer cart. The liquid fertilizer system features multiple factory-installed application options, such as frame-mounted coulters and in-furrow options. With two 50-bu. tanks, seed capacity tops out at 100 bu. Individual tank scales are optional.

The planter comes in 23-, 24-, 31- or 32-row, 15” configurations or 24 rows with 20” spacing.

In-cab hydraulic row unit lift control allows operators to convert from 15” to 30” spacing with no manual lifting or tools required. When planting in a split-row configuration, the nearly 50” row unit offset helps increase residue flow while minimizing plugging.

A wing flex of +/- 15 degrees combined with +/- 8” of row unit travel allows the row units to remain in contact with soil, even in rugged terrain. Optional hydraulic wing downforce ensures proper seed depth control on the wings.

With a front-fold frame design, the 2150S Early Riser planter delivers a narrow transport width of 13’. A simple on-screen, step-by-step folding-and-unfolding system provides a smooth and quick transition from transport to field operation. Operators also have in-cab hydraulic control of all rear subframe row units, including the center main frame row units.

Precision Disk 550 Series Air Drill Sports Enhanced Row Unit and Added Capacity

With greater tank capacity, a parallel-link row unit and other features, the Precision Disk 550 air drill is designed for a variety of crops and tillage practices.

“We continue to hear from growers — they need added capacity to get more seeding done in a day,” says Trent Nowosad, Case IH marketing manager for seeding equipment. “Case IH engineered the Precision Disk 550 air drill to meet this demand, with agronomically designed features to boost producers’ bottom lines.”

A new closing system features indexable angle adjustments from 0 to 13 degrees that work in various conditions — from conventional to no-till. A range of gauge wheel widths and styles accommodate different field and crop conditions.

The Case IH parallel-link row unit design is known for ensuring consistent coulter depth and accurate seed placement. An exclusive variable down-pressure spring holds each row unit in contact with the ground, while a forward-facing seed tube helps minimize seed bounce. Plus, operators can adjust to changing field conditions on the go with standard in-cab hydraulic down pressure control.

The Precision Disk 550T air drill offers a tank capacity of up to 140 bu. A low-profile, rail-guided tank lid ensures effective seal and allows for easy access. High-flotation tire options accommodate greater tank capacities to reduce compaction.

Enhanced autocalibration check software verifies settings by using scale feedback. A stationary calibration package is standard, allowing operators to perform checks without needing to operate the unit in-field. An in-tank camera helps monitor tank fill and a rear-view camera helps operators safely transport.

To help reduce plugging in muddy conditions, gauge wheel options are available with an open-spoke design. The 4.5” option matches conventional tillage conditions, while a 3” option is for tougher no-till conditions. A new seed trench scraper is available to cleanly cut the seed trench.

To protect meters, a standard seed meter rain shield helps minimize contact with dust and debris for easy cleaning and maintenance. Chrome pins and heavy-duty scraper springs on the row unit deliver a longer wear life. Earth Metal disk blades are engineered to withstand tough conditions and cut cleanly through heavy crop residue.

The planter and drill are available to order for spring 2023. For more information, contact your local Case IH dealer or visit www.CaseIH.com.
