Less than 15% of Farm Journal Pulse respondents have a brand-new planter.
When did you buy your main planter? According to this week’s Farm Journal Pulse, most farmers have an aging planter on their farms.
More than 1,600 farmers replied to the question: How old is your primary planter?
Here are the results:
Only 13% of these farmers have a brand-new planter. The vast majority, 87%, have a planter that is 2 or more years older, while 33% have a planter that’s 11 or more years old.
Two farmers that replied boasted planters that are 21 and 40 years old.
