I’ve compiled 18,011 auction prices on UTVs/ATVs in the past 23 years. The space has come a long way since the days of three-wheel Big Red Hondas dotting the countryside.

So far this year, I’ve compiled 1,405 auction prices on UTVs/ATVs. Here’s the scoop on the three highest-selling workhorses:

This 2015 Bobcat Toolcat 5610 with 1,200 hours sold for $31,000 on June 1, 2023, at a West Fargo, N.D., sale.

On March 16, 2023, this 2022 Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Northstar Ultimate with 57 hours sold for $30,500 at a Dyersville, Iowa, sale.

This 2021 John Deere Gator XUV 835R with 475 hours sold for $30,000 on Feb. 25, 2023 in Columbia City, Ind.

One of the main drivers behind the strong auction pricing on good used UTVs/ATVs the past couple of years has been the supply and demand situation — basically strong buyer demand while the supply of used units on dealer lots has been historically low. The below supply and demand chart from MachineryPete.com looks at used UTVs/ATVs for sale over the past two years. It’s eye-opening to see the orange demand line versus the blue supply line. But note that the blue supply line has finally begun to climb some in 2023. So better buys ahead? Stay tuned.
