What are the odds?

Astronomical.

That 2 of the 16 ever made IHC 7488 tractors would sell the same day on two different auctions? Well, that day was today (November 10, 2018) and we have ourselves a new record high auction sale price. Coming into today the record high auction sale price on an IHC 7488 tractor was $105,000 back on a September 9, 2017 auction in Refton, PA, where a sweet 1985 IHC 7488 with 4,492 hours hit the record mark. Here’s a picture of it:

$105,000 is now the former record price. Today on the Mecum Gone Farmin’ collector auction in Davenport, IA, another 1985 IHC 7488, No. 12 of 16 made, sold for $115,000. Here’s a picture of it:

Even better than a picture, here’s Youtube video of it selling for $115,000 today:

A few hours later, around 3 pm CST today, up in the southwest Minnesota farming town of Luverne, another IHC 7488 tractor sold, this 1985 model 7488 was No. 14 of 16 total made, and was sold by my friends at Wieman Land & Auction Co. It went for $100,000. Here’s a picture of it:

Seriously, what are the odds that 2 of the only 16 ever made IHC 7488 tractors would sell on the same day, on two different auctions? Astronomical. But sure was fun!
