It's a pretty safe bet that more corn was harvested last week in North Dakota and Minnesota than in any other seven-day stretch in the states' histories, crop watchers say.According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a full third of North Dakota's near-record corn crop and 30 percent of Minnesota's record corn crop came off in the week ended Saturday.Because both states have more corn than just about ever before, such a pace likely is a record, experts say.By Saturday, 77 percent of Minnesota's corn was harvested, up from 47 percent Oct 17 and 41 percent by Oct. 24 in the five-year average. A year ago, only 6 percent of the crop was harvested at this date.
