JD 7810 Tractor Almost Hits Record Price Today on Alberta Auction

“Pete, is that a new record price?”

The questions have been pouring in late this afternoon into this evening. Folks are talking about the incredibly beautiful 1996 John Deere 7810 tractor sold today (April 5, 2019) on the Terence Giles farm estate auction in south-central Alberta, Canada by my friends at Ritchie Bros. (http://www.rbauction.com). The 1996 model 7810 had 1,557 hours, was always shedded and was a “1 owner” tractor. Here’s a picture of it:

It sold for $170,000 CAD. Converted into U.S. dollars this afternoon that comes out to $127,585. Almost a new record high auction sale price for John Deere 7810 tractors...but not quite. It trails only the 1999 John Deere 7810 with 1,050 hours sold for $129,139 (US) on 8/2/14 farm auction in Bethany, Ontario, Canada. Here’s a picture of that still record price 7810:

An interesting side note to this south-central Alberta, Canada farm estate auction today, the Terence Giles farm was used as a filming location in the beautiful 1995 movie “Legends of the Fall” starring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins.
